Dr. Amit Chakrabarty, M.D., M.S., F.R.C.S.

Dr. Chakrabarty completed his residency in urology and research fellowship in Urooncology (Urologic cancer) in 1995, and has been practicing urology in North Alabama since then.

Dr. Chakrabarty has written and published numerous articles covering different areas in urology in medical journals. His work has been presented at both national and international meetings. He is a speaker for many pharmaceutical and medical devices companies. He is a national surgical proctor for male and female urinary incontinence and female pelvic floor repair. He is also a primary investigator in various research studies.

By participating in continued research and in various medical meetings and seminars, Dr. Chakrabarty is committed to providing his patients state of the art treatment options for urological conditions. He uses modern treatment modalities and was the first Urologist in North Alabama to offer innovative treatments such as:

• Advance male sling for male urinary incontinence
• Minimally invasive techniques for pelvic floor repair and female urinary incontinence.
• Minimally invasive therapies for Cancer of Prostate like Cryotherapy and High Frequency Ultrasound (HIFU)
• Interstim therapy for overactive bladder

Practice Hours

Our office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, with late appointments available on Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Appointments

Visits are by appointment only. Every effort will be made to see new patients within a week and emergencies within twenty four hours.

Office Policy

• All co-pays, deductibles and other payments are expected on the day of services unless previous arrangements have been made with the Office Manager. For your convenience, we accept VISA and MASTERCARD.
• Appointments are reserved for your visit. If unable to keep an appointment, please call and cancel 24 hours in advance. Failure to do so may result in a charge of $25.
• Unless it is an emergency, nurses or the doctor will return calls at the end of the day.

Calling After Hours

To contact us after hours, you may call our office number and follow instructions to leave a message or page the doctor. If it is an emergency, you may proceed to the nearest emergency room and they will contact the doctor.

Insurance Policies

We accept most major insurances and will be glad to file your claims for you. Please feel free to talk to us about any questions you have in this regard and we will clarify it for you.

Financing is available for self-pay patients or for procedures not covered by your insurance provider
